About Jack Quinn

Jack Quinn currently represents the146th Assembly district in the New York State Assembly, which includes most of Southern Erie County. He is a lifelong resident of Hamburg.

After graduating from University at Buffalo Law School, Jack began his career as an attorney for the law firm of Stamm, Reynolds & Stamm, where he focused on civil litigation. From there, he joined the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. Under the leadership of then-District Attorney Frank Clark, Jack worked tirelessly to bring criminals to justice and to ensure our community is a safer place to live and raise a family.

Jack’s commitment and passion to the Buffalo region is what drove him to run for office and to serve as our Assemblyman. His priorities include putting Western New York residents back to work; holding Albany accountable for every taxpayer dollar spent; bringing about comprehensive pension reform; eliminating the fraud, waste and abuse that plagues our Medicaid system; and fighting for real ethics reform that does not simply serve as election-year window dressing. Jack has a reputation in Albany for his staunch fiscal conservatism. As Assemblyman, he has cut taxes and wasteful spending, and is working tirelessly to create opportunities for today’s families and tomorrow’s leaders.

Jack is a strong advocate for creating a solid workforce centered on emerging technologies and the trades. He supports funding educational initiatives that will provide our area with real economic, social and community development. He continues to fight for the passage of the UB2020 legislation – a strategic plan to grow the University at Buffalo's enrollment and attract top-flight faculty researchers – which will lead to the addition of thousands of new jobs in the Buffalo region. Jack knows that UB2020 is the most realistic and far-reaching plan to regenerate the economic future of the Buffalo-Niagara region.

In 2007, Jack joined the law firm of Shaw and Shaw, P.C. where he continues to practice Civil Litigation.

In 2008, Jack and two of his Assembly colleagues formed the RemaiNY taskforce. This group has traveled the state talking with young professionals, educational leaders, business owners and students in attempt to provide new initiatives that will lead to statewide economic growth and a prosperous future for all New Yorkers.

Assemblyman Quinn received his undergraduate degree from Siena College and received his juris doctor from University at Buffalo Law School.

Active within the community, Jack is member of the Hamburg Sunrise Rotary, Hamburg Rod and Gun Club, Southdowns Walleye, Hamburg Snow Mobile Club, American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, Erie County Bar Association and is a parishioner at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Hamburg.
